The Altenmarkt – Zauchensee area offers over 500 km of sign-posted hiking paths for hikers. Opportunities range from laid-back hikes to challenging hiking tours. No matter which tour you choose, there are huts everywhere, which invite you to stop and rest and which serve regional delicacies.
The Salzburg Summer in the Hills is a special vacation experience for foodies, nature lovers, and those in search of relaxation. There are over 1,800 alpine huts in SalzburgerLand, more than any other Austrian province. Around 550 huts are open for mountain hikers, and they will treat you to savory, regional specialties.

Hiking ToursThe Country Lore Path between the Reitlehenalm and Habersatt mountain inn provides fascinating insights into country lore relating to specific days of the year.
The Sonnseit'n Almen Tour is a gently undulating forest trail filled with variety. It runs past the Moosalm, Reitlehenalm, Buchsteinalm, Habersatt mountain inn, Herzgsellbauer farm and back to the original starting point.
The impressive panorama tour up the Rossbrand – the most beautiful, most scenic mountain in the Eastern Alps - to the Radstädter Hütte, leads along a forested ridgeline on the sunny side of the Schwemmberg recreation area. Also located along this tour is the "Country Lore" theme path. The village walking path leads us around the charming village of Altenmarkt, nestled amidst magical alpine scenery. From the starting point we head out along the forested Schlatterberg, continuing next to the River Enns, then in the historical footsteps of the Romans past meadows and fields. The route then takes us past the Eckwald and back to our starting point.

ATOMIC Vital-Park Altenmarkt-Zauchensee
A true joy - Nordic-walking at all elevations! There are nine tours to choose from with different levels of difficulty (2 easy, 1 intermediate, 4 difficult), each ranked according to a set of criteria established by sports scientists. Choose between gentler routes in Altenmarkt at elevations between 842 m and 1,125 m, or the scenic routes of Zauchensee, elev. 1,330 to 1,750 m.
