“The exceptional snow conditions in our broad valley are truly special”, says Matthäus Steffner, cross-country skiing pioneer from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. Snows are guaranteed all the way into April on the alpine trails of Zauchensee (6 km, section of the Zauchensee forest trail) at an elevation of 1,100 m to 1,350 m, Gnadenalm (10 km) at an elevation of 1,350 m, and Rossbrand (12 km) at an elevation of 1,700 m. A total of 220 km of the best-prepared, clearly marked trails of all difficulty levels will make the pulses of classic skiers, skaters, laid-back skiers, and competitive cross-country skiers race faster in pure anticipation.
