Altenmarkt- Vacation on the Sunny Side of the Enns Valley

Altenmarkt, also called the sunny heart of Enns- Pongau, is a wonderful place in Salzburger Land (only 65 km from Salzburg, the city of festivals and Mozart), where the ambiance of old traditions and genuine customs is still perceptible. As open-minded and young as Altenmarkt/Zauchensee appears to the visitor, its soil is steeped in history: the Altenmarkt deanery parish church with a stone statue of the “Virgin Mary with Child” from the year 1393 attests to this with its stylistic contradictions, namely a gothic knave and a late-baroque onion dome.
